Donald Trump
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and disappointment in Senator Cory Booker
Yesterday was a holiday in honor of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I thought it would be appropriate to share some of my thoughts on the man and his mission to stand against injustice. Dr. King stood for racial equality in the face of institutionalized racism. Here’s a quick reference of some of his accomplishments from the King Center Website. It’s important that holiday’s like yesterday are more than just a day off. It’s time for all of us to understand our history and celebrate the accomplishments of a great man.

Tuesday, June 7th. Yup, Primary Election Day in a handful of states. Does it matter? The election is irrelevant because we’re well on the way to be a close General Election match up between Hillary and Trump? Well, not so fast. Tomorrow’s election actually may have a significant impact on the next couple months leading up to the Democratic and Republican conventions and into November.
Let ‘Em Talk
Today I had a lengthy conversation with Jane Sanders who is married to U.S. Senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Although she did bust my chops a bit for throwing a few questions at her all at once (I tend to do that, just ask the Chasers) she was straightforward with her answers and really towed the ‘Party line’ regarding class warfare. Essentially saying that there’s enough money among the rich to fund all the projects desired by the American people, especially free college for Millennials.
The challenge with the “Party line” of course is what some on the political Left call hypocrisy as the Sanders family income reported in 2014 topped $200,000 putting them solidly in the top 6% of earners nationwide. Go ahead, check your income here… You know you want to…
And That’s A Wrap
And that’s a wrap. With a huge win in Indiana, Donald Trump becomes the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party and will secure enough delegates for a first ballot win. As far as New Jersey is concerned, the primary votes will again not have a real bearing on the contest, or will they?
The Back Room Exposed
Political reality is exposed this cycle more than most. I’ve discussed the brutal nature of politics before, specifically that the vitriol between the candidates this cycle is no worse than many elections going back to the founding of the nation. So it’s not the vicious nature of the battle for the White House that is any different this election. It’s always been a brutal path filled with vitriolic personal attacks and I believe it will continue to as long as we’re electing Presidents.
The Election Of 1800…err 2016
Presidential campaign politics has hit a new low. We’ve lost our way and now only practice the politics of personal attacks instead of politics. The current campaign is why people hate politics and politicians. Really? Here’s a news flash, this campaign isn’t the first dirty one, and it’s by far not the worst.
Death Knell For AC? Not So Fast!

Atlantic City has been failing for many years. Casinos closing, crime in the streets, small businesses closing and people leaving and not looking back.
More than 5,000 housing units are empty, the result of a 40% decline in population since 1930. Some of them have been boarded up with plywood; a few are so old they’ve begun falling apart.

The question is who’s to blame? In the heat of the presidential campaign there are several voices blaming Donald Trump as his casinos ended up in bankruptcy.
CHASING NEWS: “5 Things You Didn’t Know About Trump”
On last night’s Chasing News, Sibile Marcellus learned five things you may not know about Donald Trump. For this chase, she headed to Long Island, to the home of Michael D’Antonio, author of “Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success.” A few things you could learn:
1. Trump’s running mate is …
2. Trump once punched …
3. Trump tried to date this famous woman, and sent her flowers every week …
4. Trump’s grandfather dabbled in …
5. Trump would like to be …
The Trump Effect
Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is having a significant impact on the presidential election. So far he’s the only candidate to show a broad appeal across party lines with undeclared voters and working class Americans. Even among Hispanics he’s outperforming other Republicans…evidenced by the election results in Nevada.
Seems that the more he’s attacked, the better he performs in polling. Today is a huge day with five primaries in FL, OH, MO, NC and IL. Predictions lean toward Trump winning at least three tonight, FL, NC and IL…toss up with Kasich having the edge in OH and Cruz running a strong enough second in MO to make it interesting…
