Sparky Gets The Point
Is that Sparky Lyle? Yup. That’s him.
Legendary Cy Young award winning major league relief pitcher who pitched his way to an exemplary career with Boston, New York and Philly. For the past few weeks I’ve been making the rounds with my colleague from Chasing News, Jessica Nutt to minor league ballparks around the Garden State.
#TheMuffinJoke
Yes, the muffin joke has become a staple of my morning show on NJ 101.5 FM…and it sometimes comes up on Chasing News…much to the chagrin of the Chasing team.
It’s gotten to the point where someone came up to me at a recent speech I delivered and had a pressing question before I went on, pulling me aside, asking me to explain the joke. Oh boy.
#DigginInWithKim
Quite a morning on the air today. My day got jumpstarted by an article about State Senator Steve Oroho who has already conceded that the gas tax will be raised and wants to offset the tax with an income tax deduction. Wow. What a shell game being played by the NJ Legislature. More specifically the Republicans. I’ll get to them in a minute.

(not everyone will get this title but for those of you who do, you’re welcome)
Tuesday, June 7th. Yup, Primary Election Day in a handful of states. Does it matter? The election is irrelevant because we’re well on the way to be a close General Election match up between Hillary and Trump? Well, not so fast. Tomorrow’s election actually may have a significant impact on the next couple months leading up to the Democratic and Republican conventions and into November.
Hangin’ with Jay Pharoah
Had a great guest on the radio this morning, Jay Pharoah.
A couple takeaways, first, he’s hilarious. Second, I grew up calling the candy spread on ice cream, Jimmies. Some call it sprinkles. Now, so do I. Listen to Jay’s take on the name and you’ll see why.
CHASING NEWS: The Miracle Of Grace
A New Jersey girl who got a chance to meet Pope Francis while she was battling a rare form of cancer is now cancer free.
Grace West of Freehold was diagnosed with a rare form of nerve cell cancer at age 10. The Make-A-Wish Foundation arranged a trip to the Vatican, and she was kissed by the pope during her visit.
A year and a half later she’s cancer free.
“Being in the Vatican was this peaceful place you could stay in forever. The architecture was incredible,” Grace said.
Grace, whose nickname is Cookie, started a foundation called Cookie’s Crumblers to raise money for cancer research goes by the nickname, “Cookie.” On Saturday the foundation will hold its inaugural Gala of Gratitude.

Grace West
Today I met a courageous young lady from Freehold who shared her inspiring story with my morning show audience. Grace West is 12 years old (turning 13 later this month) and is doing fine after being diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma at age ten. After years of enduring difficult treatment and not knowing whether she’d ever see her next birthday, Grace is now cancer free. She told me that she got the good news in December. And corrected me that it’s not referred to as being “in remission” and instead is N.E.D. That’s “No Evidence of Disease”. Grace and her mom credit faith, family, friends and some skilled docs with helping her get to the point where’s she’s not only cancer free, but strong and focused enough to help other kids struggling through cancer and the difficult treatment.
Let ‘Em Talk
Today I had a lengthy conversation with Jane Sanders who is married to U.S. Senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Although she did bust my chops a bit for throwing a few questions at her all at once (I tend to do that, just ask the Chasers) she was straightforward with her answers and really towed the ‘Party line’ regarding class warfare. Essentially saying that there’s enough money among the rich to fund all the projects desired by the American people, especially free college for Millennials.
The challenge with the “Party line” of course is what some on the political Left call hypocrisy as the Sanders family income reported in 2014 topped $200,000 putting them solidly in the top 6% of earners nationwide. Go ahead, check your income here… You know you want to…
