On Friday’s Chasing News, I was able to head down to Atlantic City to have a frank and refreshing discussion with Mayor Don Guardian. Take a look:

Atlantic City has, in my opinion, so much more to offer than Las Vegas. What my family and I don’t understand is why, on any given day, any time of the year, AC hotels cost close to twice as much per night as LV hotels. Once my children reached the age of 21, I noticed an overwhelming interest in AC by them and their friends for birthday celebrations, bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, etc. Over the years, researching costs has proven time and time again that Las Vegas, even taking airfare into account, was a much better value when it comes to hotel, food prices at the many all you can eat buffets, etc. Young adults and older adults alike, would love to spend a few fun filled nights in AC walking the boardwalk, visiting the casinos, eating, etc. why can’t AC model their prices of hotels, food, and attractions after LV? Challenge a group of Rutgers Business Students to take over and manage one of the hotels for 6 months to a year, using Las Vegas as an example, and I’m confident that the hotel would show a huge increase in tourism. The winter prices in AC should be discounted, while the summer rates could be higher, but definitely not as high as they are currently.
