The Daily Point Headers

Western civilization is under attack.  Islamic terrorism struck again early today with the massacre at the Brussels airport and metro station killing dozens of passengers and commuters.

As I said on the morning radio show, it’s clearly time to step up our security at our own airports throughout the US.  The idea that the ticket counters and baggage claim areas are vulnerable leaves open the possibility of a similar attack in the US. On the positive side, law enforcement has been doing an outstanding job of keeping us safe.  As of June 2015, American law enforcement has thwarted at least 69 Islamic terror plots since the attacks on September 11th.

President Obama’s Insult to Law Enforcement

The Daily Point Headers

President ObamaPresident Obama heads to Cuba as the first U.S. President since Calvin Coolidge visited the Island in 1928.  Unfortunately for the people of Cuba the nation has fallen very far from the independence, prosperity, peace and political freedom they enjoyed in the 1920’s.

#BlueFriday: Officer Jonathan Regan

The Daily Point HeadersBlue Friday LogoEvery Friday on my morning radio show on New Jersey 101.5 FM I dedicate time to honor the men and women in Law Enforcement.  My goal is to offer a counter to what seems is a cultural norm of spreading fear and hatred about police officers.  Many Hollywood elites and groups like Black Lives Matters have pushed a narrative about police brutality that really doesn’t add up when you look at the facts and the sheer number of times law enforcement interacts with the public.  Bottom line is that although there are prosecutable incidents, for the most part cops are out there every day, standing up for the community, solving problems and taking criminals off the streets.

Look Both Ways Before Crossing The Street

Posted on

The Daily Point HeadersOnly in New Jersey does the legislature strive to pass laws that do everything but address actual problems in the Garden State.  Today’s #LawWeCanDoWithout comes in the form of a bill sponsored by a relatively obscure member of the New Jersey Legislature, Pamela Lampitt. Her plan is to fine pedestrians caught crossing the street using their cell phone…oh and possibly put them in jail.  That’s right, sent to jail for using your cell phone while crossing the street.

CHASING NEWS: Dealing With Heroin

On last night’s Chasing News, Diana Blass presented a story about Daniel Regan and his mom Lynn, how they are dealing with heroin’s devastating effect on their lives and the incredible way that they are turning it all around to help others.

The Heroin Epidemic

The Daily Point Headers

We all know that the heroin epidemic is getting worse not better.  Thousands of young people and families are destroyed by this devastating addiction.  More than 700 people die from an overdose each year in New Jersey.

Heroin-Related Deaths in New Jersey 2004 to 2014

Earlier today I met with a young man who has first hand experience with the drug and the impact it has on people and their loved ones.  His name is Daniel Regan and he’s 25 years old and sober for the past five years.  His life was saved after six failed attempts in rehab when his mother Lynn chased him to California and found him in an abandoned hotel, homeless and hooked. On last night’s Chasing NewsSibile Marcellus learned five things you may not know about Donald Trump. For this chase, she headed to Long Island, to the home of Michael D’Antonio, author of “Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success.” A few things you could learn:

1. Trump’s running mate is …

2. Trump once punched …

4. Trump’s grandfather dabbled in …

5. Trump would like to be …

The Trump Effect

The Daily Point Headers

4Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is having a significant impact on the presidential election.  So far he’s the only candidate to show a broad appeal across party lines with undeclared voters and working class Americans.  Even among Hispanics he’s outperforming other Republicans…evidenced by the election results in Nevada

Seems that the more he’s attacked, the better he performs in polling.  Today is a huge day with five primaries in FL, OH, MO, NC and IL.  Predictions lean toward Trump winning at least three tonight, FL, NC and IL…toss up with Kasich having the edge in OH and Cruz running a strong enough second in MO to make it interesting…
